Me!
Hi! Welcome to Cormac's NetCastle, a site devoted to me and things I've made. :) Whee the joy of narcissism! Seriously, the site has some of my art (computer based stuff as my physical media work tends to be too big to fit into the darn scanner! :) ), some writing, and a few other bits and pieces. So go through the nice door into the greathall and start exploring. :)
A little site history for those of you who were wondering why it all looks so plain... Way back in late 1993 I read about this thing called the world wide web. Just a little blurb in Wired which back then was all about telnet and gopher sites and newsgroups. Winter term rolled through Oberlin and battered me to heck and back again. Once over the tumultuous events I fired up the then rather new Mosaic and started poking around on the web. Which was rather small at the time, but way cool. I resolved to build a web site, and from that desire came my NetCastle. So back when this was put together there was just HTML 1.0. In fact, it may have just been HTML, unnumbered, nobody really thought about it then. Mosaic didn't do jpg, just xbm and gif. Background images? Background color? Transparency? Wuzza? :)
Anyhow, so there was nothing more advanced than HTML 1.0 when this site was first put up. By the beginning of summer I had graduated, left Oberlin and started working at a cool company then known as The Internet Group (link is long dead now, how sad and transient). Building web systems ate up my life, this site kinda stopped getting updated, and HTML climbed way past what is utilized here.
I haven't really updated this website since about 1997, except for a few minor edits here and there, though I do definitely maintain it still. Most of my web-presence nowadaysis in my blog/journal.
