Circuit Design
This section describes DLSim 3 circuit construction. It contains the
following subsections:
- DLSim 3 Components
- A catalog of logical elements used in
circuit construction. Also introduces basic concepts such as Action
Menus and Multiplicity.
- Adding, Selecting, Copying, Moving, Deleting and Connecting
Components
- Component management and interconnection.
- Bus Connections
- Simplifying component connections by using
bus connections in place of multiple parallel single connections
between components pairs.
- Connectors
- A connector models a carrier for a single or
parallel-bus connection with multiple input and output terminals. It
is generally used to distribute a single (or bus) output value to
multiple inputs, but it also permits multiple outputs to be "fed" to multiple inputs.
- Bundlers
- A bundler is used primarily to "repackage" parallel connections into different bus groupings. It has several
secondary uses (modes) as well.
- Plug-ins
- Plug-ins are user-defined components that extend
the component palette for special purposes.
- Level vs. Edge Triggering
- Creating edge-triggered circuits.
