Homework 7 - Research Paper Review
Homework Description
In this homework assignment, you will select a research paper, read it, and then turn in a one to two page evaluation of the paper. In this evaluation, you should answer the following questions:
- What is the research goal of this paper? What problem are they trying to solve?
- What is their proposed solution? Why is what they are doing difficult/interesting/non-trivial?
- How sucessful do you think they are? How do they demonstrate their sucess, and is it believeable?
- What is your analysis of the identified problem, idea and evaluation? Is this a good idea? What flaws do you perceive
in the work? What are the most interesting or controversial ideas? For work that has practical implications, ask
whether this will work, who would want it, what it will take to give it to them, and when might it become a reality?
- What are future directions for this research?
- How does this apply to the ideas we learned in class?
A paragraph or two addressing each of these questions should be sufficient.
